Soneo AI has been selected as a startup for the AI Factory Austria AI:AT – and we're genuinely proud. Not because it gives us a nice logo for our website. But because the AI Factory is exactly what Europe needs right now in the AI space: a concrete, functioning ecosystem that connects research, startups, and industry.

What the AI Factory Austria Really Is

The AI Factory Austria AI:AT describes itself as "Austria's key project for powerful and trustworthy artificial intelligence" – and that's no exaggeration.

Behind it is a program funded by the EU and the European High-Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC), explicitly designed to make AI in Europe not just a research topic but scalable under real-world conditions. With sovereign infrastructure, technical expertise, and a network spanning research, industry, and public administration.

The consortium members are heavyweight names: AIT Austrian Institute of Technology, TU Wien, University of Vienna, TU Graz, JKU Linz, ISTA, and more. The coworking hub at SOLARIS in Vienna is more than an office – it's a place where AI infrastructure, expertise, and collaboration genuinely come together.

Why We Were Selected – and What We're Making of It

Being selected doesn't mean getting a sticker. It means being part of an active ecosystem with concrete access to resources and expertise that flow directly into our work.
